Porfirio (Por) Caldera Diaz, 80, of Sterling, was born on May 29, 1943 in Nicaragua to Porfirio and Nelly Diaz. He passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at his home.

Por spent his life in the printing business, first working at print companies, and then owning his own printing business in California and later in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a Master Printer for over 60 years.

Por was married to Lila Kingston and they had two children, Tania Diaz and Tony Diaz. He was an avid soccer fan and was Tony and Tania’s soccer coach for years.

Survivors include his daughter, Tania Diaz Wingert (Chuck) of Sterling; son, Tony Diaz (Miko) of Sterling;grandchildren, Sabrina Wiggs (Zach) of Lincoln, Katrina Diaz of St. Paul, MN, Malayna Wingert of Lincoln, and Ella Wingert of Sterling; sisters, Yolanda Reynolds (Tom) of Harrisonville, MO and Socorro Diaz of Houston, TX; brother, Rudy Diaz (Lupe) of Los Angeles, CA; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lila; parents, Porfirio and Nelly Diaz; brother, Sal Diaz.

Por was very loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice.
