Erma L. Hazen

Erma L. Hazen, 92, of Beatrice, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday night, February 17, 2021 in a Madison, Wisconsin hospital. She was born on July 17, 1928 at Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School. After graduation she was employed at the Tecumseh courthouse for the County Agent and the Dairy Association/Bindweed District. On September 26, 1948 she married Shannon Hazen and they moved to Sterling in 1949. Beginning in 1952 Erma was partner and bookkeeper for Hazen’s Repair, Hazen’s Apco and Hazen’s Green Acres at which time she became a florist after attending florist school. She retired from the floral business in 1993 when they sold the shop and in 2000 retired from being church secretary at St. John Lutheran Church after 30 years. In 2001 they started as independent agents for the Lutheran Digest and traveled the state. She was a receptionist for Zink-Fox Funeral Home for many years. She was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sterling, serving in different capacities with the women of the church. She also volunteered for various Sterling school organizations, PTA, was a 4-H leader, secretary for the Sterling Improvement Association, and co-chair for the Bicentennial in 1976. In 2014 Erma and Shannon moved to Arbor Meadows in Beatrice. Erma will be remembered for always sharing her smile and helpful attitude so generously with the world.

May 10, 1983 - February 18, 2021 Holly (Stone) Klein, 37, of Tecumseh, passed away unexpectedly February 18, 2021 at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born to Chris and Linda Stone on May 10, 1983 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Joe E. Reilly

Joseph “Joe” Edward Reilly, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away February 8, 2021 at the Journey House in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born September 20, 1935 in Walthill, Nebraska, one of nine children of Fred and Mildred (Anderson) Reilly.

Elizabeth A. Kramer

Elizabeth A. Kramer, 34, of Beatrice, Nebraska died February 8, 2021 at University Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Elizabeth was born on August 9, 1986 in Lincoln to Ronald and Jacinta (Conradt) Kramer. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 2005 and received her Bachelors Degree in History from Peru State College and Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Kaplan University.

Diane M. Hubbard

Diane M. Hubbard, 65, of Sterling, went on to her next journey in life on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Lancaster Manor in Lincoln. She was born to Raymond and Berdine (Horns) Thies on December 14, 1955 in Syracuse. She graduated from Lincoln High School on May 31, 1974. On that same day, she married Claude “Cotton” Hubbard, Jr. in Lincoln. She was a wonderful wife for over 46 years. Diane enjoyed babysitting off and on for over twenty plus years, as she loved children. She was a great cook and worked for many food establishments. Diane loved her grandchildren Kelsie and Mason. She enjoyed watching their many sporting events. Diane was a talented seamstress as she has sewn blankets, dresses, and many other items over the years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, canning, and gardening. She was a former member St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Douglas and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sterling.

Victor L. Woltemath

Victor L. Woltemath, 82 years of age, of Elk Creek passed away at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln Sunday night, February 14, 2021. He was born on April 29, 1938 at Tecumseh, NE to Gottlieb and Ella (Bartels) Woltemath.

Norma Lee Hahn

Passed away at her home rural Tecumseh, Nebraska, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 17 days. Private family inurnment will be held at the Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Tecumseh a later date.

Helen M. Wilkinson

Helen Mae Wilkinson was born to Claude and Mae (Morrissey) Clutter on July 26, 1930 on the farm near Crab Orchard, Nebraska. She graduated from the 8th grade at the rural school near Crab Orchard and a was a member of the last class to graduate from Crab Orchard High School.

Dolores (Elenga) Hazen

Dolores Jean Hazen was born to Lammert and Tena (Sangen) Elenga on January 20, 1930 at Sterling, Nebraska. She attended kindergarten at Sterling Public Schools, 1st-8th grade at Stoney Point District #51 and 9th -12th at Vesta High School. After graduation, Dolores worked at the dime store in Tecumseh. Her father, Lammert was an architect and construction worker from Holland and designed several buildings throughout Johnson County including the community building in Tecumseh.

Maria Garcia De Rojas

Maria Garcia De Rojas, 71, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She was born to Pedro Garcia Mosica and Antonia Gallegos Izquierdo in Jalisco, Mexico on September 16, 1949. She attended school in Mexico.
