Michael Lee Mahoney

February 6, 1950 – January 23, 2024

Mike Mahoney was born on February 6, 1950 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Dick and Lois (Epley) Mahoney and passed away on January 23, 2024 in Brighton, CO, at the age of 73. Mike attended Tecumseh Public Schools and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1968.

In 1972, Mike moved to Colorado and went to work at the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO. In 1978, Mike went to work for North Park Transport out of Denver, CO, where he continued to work until his retirement in December of 2008.

Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a great brother to his siblings and to his many friends. Mike loved all things western and Harley Davidson related and enjoyed the chase of finding a new treasure or gun to add to his collections.

He wa s a l so a ver y soft-hearted teddy bear inside and loved taking in all the kitties in his acreage area and took excellent care of them. Mike’s family and friends all knew that if they needed anything they could always count on his support and help.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Lois Mahoney and his brother Dave Mahoney.

Mike is survived by his wife, Susan Mahoney of Brighton, CO; daughter Tanya (Sean) Brauckmuller of Ashland, Neb., and their three sons, Zane (Atti) Brauckmuller, Lily and Callahan; Wyatt Brauckmuller and Kade Brauckmuller; daughter Angie Roth and significant other Don Leslie of Arvada, CO; daughter Mindy Mahoney and her children Jaden and Ryder Erdkamp of Omaha, Neb., and daughter Kristin (Derek) Baumgartner and sons Masen and Brady of Highland Ranch, CO; his sister Patty Mahoney of Omaha, Neb.; brother Dan (Janet) Mahoney of Tecumseh, Neb.; sister Sue (Les) Agena of Sterling, Neb.; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on January 26, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Malesich and Shirey Crematory in Wheat Ridge, CO, with a reception following at the Arvada Community Room in Arvada, CO, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
