Last seasons’ accomplishments: Boys’ team placed 2nd in Districts and qualified for State Coach Nick Weber’s season outlook: “Our biggest strength coming into this season is our experience on the boys’ side. We have a core group of seven runners returning who all ran cross country last year and four of them as members of the team that ran at the state meet. On the girls’ side we have 3 strong runners coming into the season.

Seventh Annual McGivney Scramble

On August 2, 2014, the Knights of Columbus Council #6750 held the 7th Annual McGivney Golf Scramble at Tecumseh Country Club golf course. We were blessed by some wonderful weather and great participation as 36 participants competed in the 4-person scramble. The Mahoney Team won the Championship Flight, Smith-Weber Team in close 2nd and the Borcher Team in 3rd place. 1st Flight winners were the Fleck, Evans, and Kerr Team.

4-H Shooting Sports Contests

The Joint County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sports Contests were held with Johnson and Nemaha counties competing against each other. Johnson County had four participants and Nemaha County had five participating. The contest was held at the 4-Star Shooting Range on Saturday, July 26 at 8:00 a.m.

Girls wrap up 2014 softball season!

Tecumseh’s 12 and under team competed in the District Softball Tournament at Auburn in June.   They played the Syracuse Rockets in the first round and lost 13-4. In the second round they played the Lady Trojans and were handed a 13-7 loss

Tecumseh Seniors take runner-up at Class C Area tournament

The Tecumseh Seniors Legion baseball team rallied through the loser’s bracket and brought home the runner-up plaque from the Class C Area 4 Legion tournament played at Adams July 18-22. The first game of the  tournament on Friday, July 18, was a disappointment for the team as they were defeated by Malcolm 16-1. Coach Zach Kaster said Tecumseh was missing two of their starters and just couldn’t hit or field well in this game
