JCC girls fall to Syracuse in finals

NEBRASKA CITY - The JCC Lady Thunderbirds also placed 2nd at the Nebraska City Lourdes Holiday Tournament as they defeated their hosts and then lost to Syracuse. The Lady Thunderbirds played their hosts, Nebraska City Lourdes on Saturday night, December 28th and won by a 44-36 count. JCC outscored NCL 11-6 in the first quarter and 12-4 in the 2nd period for a 23-10 advantage at the half. NCL outscored them 26-21 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough

Sterling routs Meridian, holds off P.C.

STERLING - The Sterling Jets picked up two more wins before the holiday break as they defeated both Meridian and Pawnee City at home last week. Sterling vs. Meridian The Jets opened the week with a 51-31 win over Meridian on Tuesday, December 17th

STERLING - The Sterling Lady Jets remained on the winning track last week as they picked up two victories over Meridian and Pawnee City before the Holiday break. Sterling vs. Meridian On Tuesday, December 17th, the Sterling Lady Jets played host to Meridian.

Palmyra uses big 2nd quarter to take down JCC

TECUMSEH - The Johnson County Central Lady Thunderbirds were only down 6-8 after the first quarter of play against Palmyra on Tuesday, December 17th. Unfortunately, that didn’t last through the 2nd quarter as the Lady Panthers went on a huge 25-7 scoring run on JCC to carry a 33-13 advantage into the halftime break.

Lady Eagles looking for more scoring in games

JOHNSON, SYRACUSE - The Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles are trying to find more scoring in their recent games as they were held to single digits in each of the four quarters they played against Palmyra and Syracuse last week.
J-B vs. Palmyra The Lady Eagles hosted the Palmyra Lady Panthers on Tuesday, December 10th, but fell to their visitors by a 14-34 count.

Eagles pull out close win over Panthers, fall to hot-shooting Syracuse Rockets

JOHNSON, SYRACUSE - The Johnson-Brock Eagles had their own roller coaster ride last week as they pulled off an exciting win over the Palmyra Panthers early in the week and then lost a very disappointing contest to the Syracuse Rockets at the end of the week. J-B vs. Palmyra On Tuesday, December 10th, the Eagles hosted the Palmyra Panthers in what ended up being a very close contest.

Lady T-birds split games with Mead, E.B

MEAD, TECUMSEH - The Johnson County Central Lady Thunderbirds also split games between Mead and East Butler last week in opening action. JCC vs. Mead The Lady Thunderbirds started  the season with a road game at
Mead on Friday, December 6th. JCC got down 3-10 in the opening quarter, but were only down 14-16 at the half. They were outscored by Mead 31-21 in the second half en route to the 35-47 loss.

After opening loss to Mead, JCC throttles visiting East Butler Tigers

MEAD, TECUMSEH - The Johnson County Central Thunderbirds had a roller coaster ride of games on Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th. JCC vs. Mead The Thunderbirds opened their 2013-14 season on the road at Mead on Friday night, but came home with a 43-46 loss to their hosts.

Sterling earns 3rd place at State after facing top three teams

Lady Jets’ volleyball team earned third place after facing #3 seeded Mead, #2 seeded Giltner and #1 seeded Bertrand in the State Volleyball Tournament in Grand Island, November 14th-16th. Sterling vs. Mead The Sterling girls faced No. 3 seeded Mead in the opening round of the State Tournament on Thursday, November 14th. The Lady Jets won the match 27-29, 25-23, 26- 24, and 25-16 in a four-set battle.
