Sterling Boys capture Class D State Runner-up

Track teams and fans were treated to two of the best days of weather and competition at the 2014 State Track Meet held at Omaha Burke Stadium over the weekend on Friday and Saturday, May 23rd and 24th. The Sterling boys and girls’ made the most of the two-day competition as the boys finished just 4.5 points shy of winning the team title with 44 total points. Falls City Sacred Heart won the boys’ title with 49.5 points.

Sterling sends thirteen to State; J-B qualifies two

The Sterling Jets and Johnson-Brock Eagles enjoyed nice weather at the 2014 Class D-1 District last Wednesday, May 14th. The Sterling Jets made the most of the day by taking 2nd place in both the girls and boys’ team
standings with 98 and 122 points, respectively and qualified thirteen athletes for the State Track Meet  this weekend.

JCC boys bring home Class C-2 District title

The Johnson County Central track team hosted the Class C-2 District Track meet last Thursday, May 15th and defended their territory well as the JCC boys brought home the District team title. The Thunderbirds racked up a
total of 120 points for the day and qualified six athletes for the State Track Meet

Smooth runnings for final JCC Track Invite

The Johnson County Central Thunderbirds hosted their final Track Invitational of the 2014 regular season on Friday, May 9th in very comfortable conditions. In a packed field of teams, the JCC boys finished 5th with 47 points and the Lady Thunderbirds placed 8th with 36.5 points. Wilber-Clatonia won the girls’ team division with 117.5 points and the Syracuse boys won their division with 126 points

JCC hosts 2014 Golf Invitational at Kirkman’s; Wins team competition

The Johnson County Central golf team is winding down its 2014 golf season despite some bouts with the inclement weather and course conditions. Last week Johnson County Central traveled to both the Elmwood- Murdock Golf Invite at Grandpa's Woods and the Johnson County Central Invitational which was held at Kirkman's Cove this year because of improvements being made at the Tecumseh Country Club.

Another perfect day for athletes at the Pioneer Conference Track Invite

The area track teams haven't had very many opportune  days to compete in their events other than the Sacred Heart Invitational recently, but on Saturday, May 3rd, the 2014 Pioneer Conference Track Meet was ran under stellar track conditions. The Pawnee City Invitational, which was to be held on Tuesday, April 29th was cancelled due to inclement weather.

JCC Thunderbirds set new school records at ECNC Track Meet

The Johnson County Central Thunderbird track team took advantage of the perfect weather conditions on Saturday, May 3rd at the ECNC Conference Meet which was held at Yutan.  Johnson County Central’s Jay Kuhns started the day off with a stellar performance in the boys’  Pole Vault. Jay cleared 13’1” to set not only a new ECNC Conference record, but also a new school record.

Perfect track conditions for the 2014 Falls City Sacred Heart Invite

The track conditions for the running of the 2014 Falls City Sacred Heart Irish Invitational on Tuesday, April 22nd were absolutely perfect which set up for a record-breaki,ng day for several athletes and personal bests for others.
With plenty of sunshine and hardly no wind, the Sterling and Johnson- Brock tracksters took advantage  of the perfect conditions to place well at the meet which hosted 13 competitive teams

JCC golfers edge Auburn to win HTRS Invitational at Kirkman’s

KIRKMAN'S - HUMBOLDT - Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer hosted their annual Golf Invitational on Tuesday, April 15th at the Kirkman's Lakeview Golf Course with eight teams competing for top honors. Johnson County Central claimed the team competition title at 370 by just one stroke over Auburn who recorded a 371 for 2nd place. Pawnee City finished in 3rd place at 382 followed by Falls City and Centennial each with a 389; HTRS with a 392; Nebraska City with a 491 and Lewiston with a 541.
