Harold Fredric Wagner

Harold Fredric Wagner, only child of Arnold Clyde and Leona Marie (Zabel) Wagner, was born March 10, 1927 at Graf, Nebraska. Harold was baptized on May 8, 1927 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Johnson, Nebraska by Reverend Wm. Harder, and was confirmed April 5, 1942 by Reverend E. C. Hansen, also at St. Matthew. Harold attended Graf country school and graduated from Johnson High School in 1945. After high school, Harold served
in the U.S. Army in World War II. He served in Germany driving mail trucks and officer vehicles. Harold received his honorable discharge January 17, 1947. On May 30, 1948, Harold was united in marriage to Alta Mueller at
St. John’s Lutheran (Stone Church) Auburn, Nebraska by Reverend Gustav Wiencke. To this union was born a daughter Nancy K. and a son Ronald L. Harold “Shorty”, as his customers knew him, spent over 55 years

Col. Hudson Rupert Hurst

Col. Hudson Rupert Hurst, USA, (ret), passed away peacefully in Camden, South Carolina on February 1, 2014. He was 95 years of age. Col. Hurst was born in Tecumseh, Nebraska in 1918. He was predeceased
by his father, Dr. Daniel Webster Hurst and his mother, Julia Corson Swan Hurst, his brother, Paul Hurst, his sister, Mary Hurst Kiechel, and a son, Hudson Hurst, Jr. He is survived by his spouse, Ruth, daughter Mary Ann, numerous nephews and nieces, and many friends from various walks of life. He was married for over 71 years to Ruth Louise Peters of Elk Creek, Nebraska. They met and fell in love in the Tecumseh High School play,

Robert Wiebke

Robert Wiebke was born June 11, 1936, on the farm near Cook, Nebraska, to Martin and Emma (Spanjer) Wiebke. He passed away, on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years, 8 month, and 22 days. Bob married Carol Feurer, on June 2, 1963, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, at Johnson, Nebraska, and to this union they raised two children Barb and Brian. He served in the United States Army, and was discharged in 1963. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and meeting friends for coffee every morning. He was on the Grace Lutheran Church Council, Sunday School teacher, and even after moving to

Kenneth Delbert Buethe

Kenneth Delbert Buethe, 91, passed away February 26, 2014, at his home in Round Rock, Texas. He was born at his family homestead in rural Elk Creek, Nebraska on March 8, 1922, to Ernest and  Laura (Peters) Buethe. Kenneth attended school at St. Peter’s Lutheran in Elk Creek, and graduated from Elk Creek High School in 1940. After graduation, he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington. In 1943 he enlisted in the Army
Air Corps and served in WWII with the 494th Fighter Squadron in the Pacific Theater in Iwo Jima. He married Mildred Rose Herink, January 12, 1947, at St. Peter’s Church in Elk Creek. They made their home in Seattle, where he was employed by Boeing Aircraft. They moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1953 and then to Lincoln in 1960 where they later founded BZD Livestock Products and BZD International. They traveled extensively

Shirley Lee Miner, 81, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away at The Arbors Memory Care in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 23, 2014. She was born to Fay Samuel and Goldie Grace (Hazen) Glasson Miner on September 17, 1932 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She attended a one-room country school near Graf, Nebraska and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1950. After graduation, Shirley attended Lincoln School of Commerce and graduated with an accounting degree. She was a lifelong bookkeeper and accountant.
