Passed away at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 28 days. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Marcel Kohlmeyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Sally (Blessing) Hutt

Sally (Blessing) Hutt

Sally Ann (Blessing) Hutt was born to Charles “Chuck” and Donita (Wiltfang-Stull) Blessing on March 8, 1952 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She grew up in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1970. Sally continued her education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and later her master’s degree in special education.

She married her high school sweetheart, James Stewart Hutt on July 15, 1972 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska. To this union were born Ann Elizabeth Hutt and Robert Stewart Hutt.

R. Scott Robison

Rodney Scott Robison went to be with his Savior unexpectedly on December 1, 2019, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of

55. Scott was born in Tecumseh, Nebraska, on November 12, 1964. He grew up in Pawnee City and enjoyed working on the family farm near Elk Creek.

On January 14, 2013, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Susie. They lived in Tekamah, Nebraska

He was preceded in death by father, Rodney Robison of Pawnee City and grandparents, Thomas and Ida (Gottula) Robison and Paul and Zona (Hawkins) Rathbun, all of Tecumseh.

Local survivors include his mother, Donna (Rathbun) Robison of Pawnee City, and his wife, Susie Robison of Tekamah.

Janette Brungardt

Olympics and her work in helping impoverished families through The Sister Carmen Community Center in Colorado. Unfortunately, she will no longer be hands on in what she felt where her greatest awards-Her huge collection of “World’s Greatest Mom” crayon colored certificates or multitude of “Greatest Ever Grandma” coffee mugs. Her most recent achievements include several My Little Pony awards noting that she is the “Bestest forever Great Grandma” and countless stuffed animals bestowed upon her for her outstanding work as simply “The Best Great Grandma in the World”.

Janette wanted everyone to know that she was not afraid of this new journey, yet at times was “Weirded Out” by it. When she was finally ready to end her book here and begin her first chapter there, she did so peacefully and with grace- the grace many forgot she possessed due to her laid back and roll with it, country girl personality.

Mary Ann (Mattox) Wenzl

Mary Ann (Mattox) Wenzl

Mary Ann (Mattox) Wenzl, 88 of Steinauer, Nebraska passed away on December 8, 2019. She was born June 26, 1931 to Leslie and Ida (Lukens) Mattox in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She grew up in rural Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1948.

Mary was a loving mother and devoted homemaker who loved to cook and kept an immaculate house. At an early age of 15, Mary worked at the Tecumseh Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She then married Paul Wenzl in 1948 and moved to Steinauer. Mary became Catholic and was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Church. She was an active member and officer of the Altar Society throughout her life. She belonged to the Holy Stitchers Quilting Group and enjoyed her weekly bowling league. Mary was an EMT and volunteered many hours of service in the Steinauer community.

Elaine M. Rothell

Elaine Marie Rothell, 92, of Orange, California, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.  She was born in the small town of Heron Lake, Minnesota on August 6, 1927.  She was the third of five children to Earl and Magdalena “Lena” (Schad) Jones. Elaine loved Heron Lake but was looking for more out of life so she headed to southern California after graduation in 1945.  Once she was settled, Elaine started working for Bank of America which she loved.  She soon met another banker and eventually married George Rothell on September 26, 1964 in San Diego, California.  George and Elaine had one daughter named Leslie.  Elaine loved banking but soon found her family moving to London, England for her husband’s job.  After several wonderful years abroad, the time came to return to the U.S.  Elaine continued to support her husband in business and their daughter in all areas a mother supports.

Darlene (Grove) Johnson

Darlene (Grove) Johnson

Darlene Mae (Grove) Johnson, 78, of Tecumseh, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She was born to Francis A. and Esther (Haynes) Grove Sr. in Elk Creek, Nebraska. Darlene attended Elk Creek Public Schools.

Darlene met her future husband, Richard Dean Johnson, in home ec class in Elk Creek. They were united in marriage on November 15, 1959 at the Pawnee County Courthouse in Pawnee City, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Dale, Ken and Brenda. Richard and Darlene lived near Elk Creek until moving to Tecumseh in 1970. Richard and Darlene enjoyed square dancing and gardening and raising her family. Her husband Richard passed away June 25, 2016.

Darlene worked for the Tecumseh Care Center as well as the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn in the cleaning department.

Shirley Margaret (Badberg) Knople

Shirley Margaret (Badberg) Knople was born on September 15, 1934 near Talmage Nebraska. She passed away on November 23, 2019 at the age of 85 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh. Shirley lived her whole life in southeast Nebraska and for 62 years lived just west of Syracuse.

At age 16, right after high school, Shirley began her teaching career at a rural school near Dunbar. She retired in 1997 from Elk Creek Public School, after a career spanning more than 46 years. Shirley loved teaching school but also worked part time at the bowling alley, the veterinary’s office, and B&J in Syracuse through the years.

Shirley married Robert Knople on May 30, 1953 at Lutheran Memorial Church in Syracuse and had four children, Patti, Ricky, Lorri and Kelli. Her best days were spent spending time with her girls and her grandsons, sons-in law too.
