This historical Warren Pratt Truss Bridge, constructed in 1906 was removed from the railroad track on the southwest edge of Tecumseh about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, October 22. The historic 180-ton truss bridge was lifted in one piece by two 300-ton cranes

Johnson County Central FFA qualifies for National Land Judging!

Johnson County Central FFA Land Judging Team of Samantha Teten, Isaac Buss, Cody Beethe, and Jessica Bohling experienced and secured 4th place at State in McCook,NE on October 22nd. There were 28 teams and 135 individuals that advanced to the State Competition from 7 different districts. Samantha Teten earned 4th place individually, Cody Beethe was in the top 20%, Jessica Bohling placed in the top 40%. The top 5 teams from each State qualify for National Land Judging which will be held May 5-7, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK. The team is coached by Craig Teten and Christy Hodges.

JCH offers car seat checks and goodies for early trick-or-treaters

Johnson County Hospital and the Johnson Country Sheriff’s Department are hosting a car seat check on Saturday, October 25 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Johnson County Hospital. Make sure your child is safe. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children 1-12 years old. Many of the deaths and injuries could have been prevented with the correct use of car seats, booster seats and seat belts.

Democratic party hosts dinner to meet their candidates

The Johnson County Democratic party hosted a dinner at Hartman’s Sale Barn so party members throughout southeast Nebraska could come and meet the candidates running for the U.S. Senate, Congress and the state offices of Governor/Lt. Governor and Attorney General as well as local candidates at the county level. Approximately 78 people attended the dinner.
