Fire ravaged home demolished

Janet Brase’s home located at 126 S. Second Street in Tecumseh was demolished on Friday morning. Mike Borrenpohl of Borrenpohl Excavating received the insurance bid to demolish the home. He finished cleaning up the property on Sunday. The home had been destroyed by an accidental fire that occurred earlier in the year on Sunday morning, March 19.

The two story house was built in 1920. There have been a number of homeowners throughout the years. Clarence and Merla Laug owned the home for several years. The Jay and Cathy Lott family lived in the home in the late 1960s to early 70s. Homeowners recorded since 1984 have included Steve Zabel, Michael Erpelding, Larry Pohlman, Marvin Johnson and Janet Brase.
