Cook Days 2017 kicked off with a open house celebration hosted by The Mainstreet Bank on Friday night. The open house featured a picnic in the park with hamburgers, hotdogs and chips and entertainment by the Praise Band of the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh. In addition to a delicious meal, customers received a fly swatter and Frisbee.

Joyce Douglas, of the Mainstreet Bank and wife of Jud Douglas, deceased, graciously delivered meals to shut-ins who couldn’t make it to the picnic in the park because of the extreme heat with temperatures reaching above 100 degrees.

Justin Douglas, president of the Mainstreet Bank thanked everyone for attending the open house and picnic in the park. He and Lori Panko announced the winners of a drawing sponsored by the Mainstreet Bank. Justin’s daughter, Jacquelyn pulled out the following prize winners: Claron Holscher, two Husker football tickets; Grace Bentzinger, gas grill; Terry Helms, rolling cooler and jug.
