Farmers Bank of Cook is now Mainstreet Bank

As of June 1, the Farmers Bank of Cook took a milestone step into the future and changed its name to Mainstreet Bank. “the name change identifies each office located in smaller communities throughout southeast Nebraska, as one bank instead of a branch office, said Justin Douglas president of the newly established Mainstreet Bank.

In 2014, Justin Douglas created a list of different bank names he thought represented community banking. He and his mother, Joyce Douglas, sorted through the list and discussed the names with a marketing firm that offered additional suggestions as well. The marketing firm tested the top three names, with the bank’s Board of Directors approving Mainstreet Bank.
