Approximately twenty tryouts were held by the USSSA Florida Pride players and the National Scouting Report Agency across the country selecting 120 of the top ten and nine year old softball players to play for one of the eight regions in the United States. Each girl had the opportunity to try out for two of the four different positions including pitching, catching, infield, and outfield. They also were required to test their foot speed, agility, over hand velocity, bat speed, power, slapping, and contact quality. Dakotah Ludemann and Macy Richardson made the 10 U Central Region team. The girls wasted no time, once in Florida they met their teammates, coach and went straight to the field for a quick one hour practice. Tuesday was a full day of softball playing three pool play games against the Great Lakes (Lost 13-5), Southeast (Won 7-1) and Far West (Won 9-3). The Central team earned the number one seed in their side of the pool and entered the tournament play onWednesday facing the Northwest at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
