Deputy sees the heart-break of drug addiction

His eyes well up when he thinks of her. Johnson County Deputy Lynn Lyon was giving one of his talks on the effect of drugs to some high school students a number of years ago when a young girl approached him. He was talking about a man in Burchard whose daughter and wife left him because of his meth use. Then the man was leveraged out of his house by a drug dealer who he owed because of meth buys. “That was my dad,” the girl was telling him after the talk. Lyon said he was sorry. “Don't be,” the girl said. “That's the way it happened, just like you told it.”
